5 Key Areas to Increase Wellness In Your Life To Live More Abundantly

Let’s talk a little bit about wellness and how it can help you to achieve your best life and to live more abundantly.

What is wellness? Wellness is the act of becoming aware of and practicing healthy choices on a daily basis to attain better physical and mental health, so that instead of just surviving, you’re able to live a life of more abundance.

I always say, “that once you know something, you can’t unknown it and you will be able to make a better informed decision.”

So, let’s look at 5 key areas of your life that wellness can impact with some simple tips that you can incorporate today. Because we all know that little things done over an extended period can really add up.

Sleep - avoid caffeine in the late afternoon and evening. Stay off electronic devices the hour before bed. Go to bed within 30 minutes of the same time each night. Checkout my YouTube video from 2 weeks ago for more useful tips to help you get your best night of sleep yet.

Nutrition - add nutrient rich whole foods into your diet. My best advice is to start by swapping out snacks with something healthier, like fruit or some veggies with hummus. When on the go be sure to pack an apple, some carrot sticks or a few raw nuts for a quick nutritious snack instead of chips or pretzels from the vending machine.

Exercise - if you haven’t been active in awhile please start out slow. Take a 20 - 30 minute walk around the block. Maybe take the stairs instead of the elevator. Or instead of parking in front of the store maybe park in the back of the lot so you have farther to walk to get into the store.

Friends/Family - they are important for our mental health. Nobody understands us better than our friends or family members. Having a bad day, pick up that phone and give your friend a call. You never know how good it feels to talk to someone about your current struggles and maybe get a different perspective on the situation.

Meditation - take a few minutes and just take a few deep breathes in through your nose and exhale out slowly through your mouth. Doing this for even 2 minutes will help to lower your blood pressure and help your mind to feel clearer and more focused.

Now, this list may seem overwhelming at first but you don’t need to radically change everything today. Start slowly and incorporate a few of these and once you feel comfortable add another one or two and so on and so forth.

In no time at all you should start to feel better not only physically but mentally as well.
